Microplane Fine Grater

This is the handiest gadget you can have in your kitchen spice cabinet. It is based on the woodworking rasp, but instead of rough holes punched in tin, this tool has chemically dissolved holes in stainless steel. Each one of its many holes is as sharp as a razor blade, and all holes face the same direction, making grinding nutmeg as easy as melting butter in the microwave. It’s also much safer for your knuckles than a conventional grater! This narrow, curved grater is perfect for small, hard items like nutmegs, ginger root, garlic or zesting citrus. The grated powder collects in the curve of the grater plane and can be easily poured into a measuring spoon or other container.
